Jose Mourinho has proposed that Fenerbahce sign Manchester United’s winger Antony as their final transfer of the window.
Premier League clubs have missed the deadline for signing players after August 30, but players from their clubs can still move to the Super Lig in Turkey, where the transfer window remains open until September 13.
A notable example of taking advantage of this is Galatasaray, which signed Victor Osimhen on loan from Napoli after the striker failed to reach an agreement with Chelsea.
To bolster their squad and remain competitive across all competitions, Mourinho’s Fenerbahce is keen to add one more star before the transfer window closes.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, the Portuguese manager has requested the club to negotiate a loan deal for winger Antony from his former club, Manchester United.
Fenerbahce could finalize an agreement with MU today (September 5), local time. While Antony prefers to stay at Old Trafford to fight for his place, Fenerbahce hopes that Mourinho’s influence will persuade him to move to the Super Lig.
Antony was signed by MU in 2022 for €100 million from Ajax. However, after two disappointing seasons and failing to meet expectations, Antony has almost exhausted Erik ten Hag’s patience. This season, Antony is the fourth-choice winger, behind Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, and Marcus Rashford.
After three Premier League matches, Antony has played just one minute, coming on in the 89th minute of the 1-2 loss to Brighton. Last season, Antony contributed only one goal and one assist in the Premier League.
In addition to Antony, MU might also part ways with Casemiro in the next 10 days. Turkish media reports that Galatasaray has offered to loan the former Real Madrid star after they signed Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
Currently, Casemiro is another player MU is eager to offload after his poor performance in the 0-3 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford.
